Tianna Melnyk is a dedicated Calgary teacher. Her work centers around economically challenged families and children with higher needs. Her post-secondary education includes a Bachelor of Education and Masters level studies at the University of Calgary.
She believes in the importance of a strong economic future, valuing a diverse society and advocacy for the environment. Her time has been spent volunteering for organizations committed to effective education and health care. As president of Alberta Association for Supervision and Curriculum development she pushed for proper funding for underserved youth. As Co-Chair of the Speakers Bureau for The Arthritis Society’s Consumer Advocates Team she has worked to secure appropriate funding for Healthcare and investment in specialists. And as the Community Enhancement Coordinator for Northern Hills Community Association she has worked to see real changes to protect the environment for future generations. Investing in people drives Tianna’s view of a prosperous Alberta.
Tianna grew up in Alberta with three older sisters in a single parent working household. She learned the importance of setting goals, valuing opportunities and working hard to earn results.
Tianna lives with her husband, Alan, an Oil and Gas industry employee and their dog Fiona in Calgary MacKay.
